WHY USE A CHILD BEHAVIOUR ADVISOR?

Parenting is an incredible journey. As parents, we have the opportunity to influence the way our children grow, learn, and explore the world around them. However, life can become challenging when our days are filled with survival methods of bribing and begging our children to listen and cooperate. Sometimes it is helpful to have new ideas to connect with our children as well as to have a better perspective of where our children are developmentally. This is how I can help! Whether you are looking for direction in dealing with your children at home or to have a better picture of the dynamics at school, I come alongside families as a support to educate and give ideas on how to build a closer relationship with our children.

WHAT METHODS DO YOU USE?

I believe that a strong relationship between parents and their children is the key to raising happy and confident people. The way we interact with our children, especially in situations where emotional stress levels may be high, is very important. Unfortunately, discipline has come to have negative connotations. My goal is to support parents with positive parenting tools to use every opportunity as a teachable moment for our children and to help them navigate their emotions while giving mutual respect. We can lead our children in the right direction while strengthening our relationship with them and helping them reach their full potential.

DO YOU NEED TO MEET MY CHILD BEFORE WE HAVE A SESSION?

No, consultations are between behaviourists and parents (and can include educators). Through a detailed intake form that you fill out before our first session, as well as during our hour consultation, I will have a good idea about what areas to address and how to have more success in strengthening your relationship with your child.

WHAT ARE YOUR PRICES FOR YOUR SERVICES?

The current rate of the services offered are as follows:

Parenting consultation $120
Workshop $250
Observing and Reporting $250

HOW MANY PARENTING CONSULTATION SESSIONS WILL I NEED?

Let’s start with one and see how it goes! I always tell parents that there is no “overnight magic formula” to changing relationships. There are many contributing factors that can make our relationships better. This includes, but is not limited to, our willingness to change our perspective in understanding where our children are in their developmental stage, as well as the way we use tools that can connect with them.
